Client Impersonation

Client Impersonation allows agency users to temporarily log in as a client and view their portal exactly as the client sees it. This helps with troubleshooting, support requests, onboarding, and verifying client-side configurations—all without needing their password.

When impersonating, the agency user experiences the client’s full environment including visibility rules, permissions, services, files, and billing views that belong to that specific client account.

What You Can Do

With Client Impersonation, authorized agency users can:

  • Access a client’s portal exactly as the client would see it

  • Review client-side data such as tasks, files, invoices, orders, and subscriptions

  • Validate visibility settings, sidebar setups, and permission restrictions

  • Troubleshoot issues reported by the client

  • Assist the client with configuration or navigation

  • Test workflows without needing to create a new test account

Who Can Use This

Client Impersonation is available to:

  • Super Admin

  • Admin

  • Manager

Getting Started

To impersonate a client:

  1. Go to Clients from the left sidebar

  2. Select a client from the list

  3. You will land on the Client Details page

  4. Click the Impersonate button located at the top-right of the profile section

Once activated, you will immediately switch into that client’s portal view.

How It Works

  • When impersonation begins, the interface changes to match the client’s portal layout

  • Only the features enabled for that specific client will be visible

  • You can navigate the portal normally to review issues or test settings

  • A visible banner or indicator will show that you are impersonating

  • When finished, simply click Switch Back to return to your agency account

Important Notes

  • Impersonation does not require the client’s login credentials

  • All interactions inside impersonation follow client-level permissions

  • Sensitive admin-only settings remain inaccessible

  • Any actions taken (creating tasks, uploading files, etc.) will be logged under the client’s account

  • Use impersonation responsibly for support and verification purposes
