The Custom Domain feature in AgencyHandy allows users to link their own website address (e.g., www.yourbusiness.com) to the platform. This enhances brand identity, professionalism, and ease of access for clients and users. The Custom Domain feature enables businesses to use their unique domain name with AgencyHandy, creating a branded and professional online presence.
Brand Reinforcement: Incorporating the business name into the website address strengthens brand identity.
Professionalism: Adds credibility and professionalism to the workspace.
Ease of Access: Simplifies access to the workspace with a familiar and memorable web address.
Users must own a domain name.
Users must have the authority to modify DNS settings for the desired domain.
Access Workspace Settings:
Log in to your AgencyHandy account.
Navigate to the Workspace Settings section.
Select Custom Domain Option:
Locate and click on the Custom Domain option.
Click the "+ Add Custom Domain" button.
Enter Domain Name:
Enter your desired domain name (e.g., www.yourbusiness.com) in the provided field.
A table with three columns will appear:
Type: Displays the domain type (CNAME). Specifies the kind of DNS record being added. For custom domains in AgencyHandy, this is typically CNAME, which points your subdomain to the platform.
Name: Define the subdomain (e.g., "client.") to precede the domain name. The subdomain part of your custom domain (e.g., "client" in client.yourbusiness.com). This defines what appears before your primary domain.
Write anything you want to be named before the domain name and end with a dot(.) For example, here, the name will be a client, so "client." is placed before the domain name.
Value: This is the content name information for the DNS record. The target information for the DNS record tells the domain where to point (e.g., the platform's server address). AgencyHandy provides this and must be copied exactly into your DNS settings.
Configure DNS Settings:
Copy the value provided and access your domain registrar or hosting provider’s DNS settings.
Add the required DNS record (CNAME) to connect the custom domain to your workspace.
The DNS only settings in Proxy Status must be OFF.
Verify Ownership:
Follow the verification process, which may include:
Adding a DNS record.
Verifying ownership via email.
Verify and Save Changes:
Once DNS settings are configured, click Save Domain within AgencyHandy.
The initial status will show as "Disconnected." Wait 2 minutes to 24 hours for the domain to go live.
Click the Refresh button to check the connection status.
When connected, the status will change to "Connected."
Use a DNS checker (e.g., dnschecker.org) to monitor your custom domain status.
Paste the domain link into the DNS checker and click Search.
If all countries are marked with a tick, your domain is live. Otherwise, wait and check again.
You can delete an added custom domain anytime by clicking the Delete button and confirming the action.
Deleted custom domains can be re-added by providing the same domain name.
DNS propagation time can vary by location, taking 2 minutes to 24 hours.
You must set off the DNS proxy from Proxy Status.
